I can't remember but I think AGteacher has a doll named Nancy Drew. And I got to thinkin', when I go to AGPNY in August, should I name my doll after a book character. I just love to see how the dolls have thier own little character and stuff. I might wanna turn my new doll into a 50's little girl? do you think that would be cute!?

Well, I only have one character named after a book character, but I love it! It's my Elizabeth doll, and she's named Purity Cooper, after a young woman in Orson Scott Card's Alvin Maker series. I adapted her story a bit so that she'd have a reason to meet Felicity and Elizabeth (AGOT 25). My Purity's parents were about to be put on trial for witchcraft in New Haven, and they fled to Williamsburg to save their lives. So, I have a LOT of fun with it. I say go for it!

I was thinking of this too.
I think mini Kaya could wear a Barbie Pocahontas dress and then she would be a Pocahontas doll.
Samantha would make a perfect Belle in the Disney My Little Princess Belle outfit.
AGT# 13 would look like Jo from Little Women in Addy's Striped Dress, and her hair in pigtails.
Josefina with curly hair would make a Perfect Esmeralda from Disney?s the Hunchback of Notre Dame, I don?t know how you could ever get an outfit for her though???..
I could go on and on!
What do you think?

All my girls are modern girls except Erica Kirsten, and she's from 1984. She's a trouble maker and loves to stress out her parents.
The rest of my non LE today girls all have personalities too though.
Aishah (#21) is a Muslim girl and Erica's half sister. She wants to be an EMT when she grows up. (see sig LOL)
Crystal (#26) is a intelligent girly girl. She's the peacemaker, and aspires to win the nobel prize.
Addy is the Addy in the book's descendant. She wants to be a police officer.
Sam is a tomboy (even though her hair has finally grew back) She wants to be a rock star and go on a world tour.

I love your Aishah, Sara.
An Esmeralda outfit isn't TERRIBLY hard to make, as far as I can tell...I once saw a handmade kids' Esmeralda outfit at Goodwill, even. A doll one could be made of some pretty simple pieces (I think you could do it with a white blouse, a lavender skirt, a pretty simple wraparound bodice, and then the coin scarf).
I like dolls to have their own personalities; IMO that's the very best thing you can do with an AGT! Whether you get the personality from a book, or make it up yourself, I'm sure you'll have more fun if your doll has some sort of personality.

My Cassie (retired AGoT 9) was always my pioneer girl companion when I'd play pioneer house. I don't think she's been in a modern outfit since the day I got her, about 10 or so years ago!
Recently, I decided to give into her pioneer personality. She isn't based on any character, but I'm really excited to come up with her own story!
ETA: A 50s girl would be darling! I just love the clothes of that time period!
